Book your assessment via our calendar

  • After you book your appointment, we will send you links to complete several screening questionnaires

  • At the time of booking, please select whether you prefer an in-person or online appointment.

  • Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email with full details — including the clinic address for in-person appointments or a Zoom link for online sessions.

  • Please check your spam or junk folder for any correspondence from us to ensure you don’t miss important information.

  • We carefully review and score your responses in preparation for the next step: your assessment meeting.

2

ADHD Assessment meeting (90-120 Minutes)

  • The assessment meeting lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

  • Based on your selection at the time of booking, your appointment will take place:

  • Online via Zoom, or

  • Face-to-face at our Longton, Preston clinic

  • A qualified clinician will carry out a structured diagnostic assessment using the DIVA-5 interview tool.

  • The assessment explores symptoms experienced in both:

  • Childhood, and

  • Adulthood

  • If possible, we recommend speaking with someone who knew you well as a child before your appointment. Gathering relevant background information in advance can help support the assessment process.

3

Your assessment outcome
2-4 weeks

Following your assessment sessions, we take time to carefully and thoughtfully review all the information gathered.

  • Your case is discussed within our Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting to ensure a thorough, balanced, and high-quality clinical decision.

  • We review and score all assessment tools in line with current diagnostic guidelines.

  • We then prepare your personalised, comprehensive diagnostic report.

Your report will:

  • Clearly explain whether you meet the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis

  • Summarise the key themes and findings from your diagnostic interview

  • Provide a clear and transparent explanation of the clinical reasoning behind our decision

  • Offer tailored recommendations for treatment and next steps

  • Include helpful resources and sources of further support

Our aim is to ensure you feel informed, understood, and supported throughout the process, with clarity about your outcomes and available options moving forward.

4

Final step

Once your report is ready, we will contact you by email to arrange an online follow-up appointment.

During the session, we will:

  • Share and explain the findings from your assessment

  • Provide you with your full diagnostic report via email

  • Discuss the recommended next steps

We will talk through treatment options, which may include:

  • Medication

  • Psychotherapy

  • Other supportive services that may be beneficial

  • Helpful resources such as apps, books, and additional support materials

This appointment is also an opportunity for you to ask any further questions and ensure you feel fully informed and supported.

If you meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD and would like to explore medication, we will refer you to our Nurse Prescriber, who will discuss suitable medication options and ongoing management with you.

If You Meet the Diagnostic Criteria for ADHD
this understanding can bring relief, clarity, and sometimes a mix of emotions. Whatever you may be feeling is valid.
We are here to support you with care and understanding as you consider your options and decide what feels right for you.

Medication Options

If you would like to explore medication, we can arrange an appointment with our Advanced Nurse Prescriber.

During these sessions, they will:

  • Talk you through the different medication options available

  • Answer any questions or concerns you may have

  • Support you through the titration process to help find the dose that works best for you

Medication appointments are arranged separately. Most people require a minimum of three titration sessions, and medication costs are paid directly to the pharmacy.

There is no obligation to choose medication — this decision is always yours.

How an ADHD and/or Autism Assessment Can Support Education

A comprehensive ADHD and Autism assessment provides a detailed understanding of an individual’s cognitive profile, attention patterns, executive functioning, and areas of strength and difficulty.

This information is essential in identifying the most appropriate support within educational settings, including school, college, or university.

A formal diagnosis, where appropriate, can help to:

  • Inform tailored support plans such as SEN support or reasonable adjustments

  • Guide access to additional resources, including exam accommodations (e.g. extra time, rest breaks, or separate rooms)

  • Support applications for funding, such as Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) in higher education

  • Enhance understanding among educators, enabling more effective teaching strategies and support

  • Promote self-awareness, helping individuals understand their learning style and develop effective coping strategies

Our assessment reports are detailed, evidence-based, and designed to be shared (with consent) with educational providers to support appropriate planning and interventions.

We aim to ensure that recommendations are practical, specific, and aligned with current best practice, supporting individuals to achieve their full potential in education.

Therapy & Ongoing Support

Many people find it helpful to access additional therapeutic or practical support, such as:

  • ADHD coaching

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) adapted for ADHD and Autism

  • Support groups

  • Skills-based strategies to support organisation, focus, and emotional regulation

We can help you explore what type of support best aligns with your goals, lifestyle, and preferences.

Our focus is always on working collaboratively with you — helping you understand your options and supporting you to move forward in a way that feels empowering and sustainable.

If ADHD Isn't Diagnosed

Not everyone who seeks an ADHD assessment will meet the full diagnostic criteria — and that is completely okay.

If your assessment indicates that ADHD is not present, we will:

  • Clearly explain what your assessment findings suggest

  • Discuss possible alternative explanations for the difficulties you are experiencing

  • Recommend appropriate support, interventions, or further assessments where helpful

  • Provide clear guidance on practical next steps

Our aim is to ensure you leave the process with greater clarity, understanding, and direction — regardless of the diagnostic outcome.
